Now that Peter Jackson is going ahead with a third Hobbit film, people are wondering what it’s going to be called? New Line had registered eight new domains for the title of third movie, and now the studio has registered four new ones.
Over on The One Ring.net, a user called Thrush said New line has registered the following names as possible film titles.
The names are as follows:
The Desolation of Smaug
The Battle of Five Armies
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug
The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies
All of this doesn’t mean these names will become the title for the third movie, since studios are in the habit of registering multiple domains. Also, one of those names, or something else, will eventually turn up since they will have to register it. There’s also the cunning ploy of registering several just to ensure an air of secrecy about what the real name will be.
I kinda like The Desolation of Smaug. It’s a bit obvious, but pretty much most people on the planet knows who Smaug is.
